I was thinking. Why do people fall in love? Is it because of the human need to be with someone? Is it because society tells us so? Companionship? Happiness? The search for contentment? While all of these are true; for me there is just one simple reason: people fall in love because they choose to. Some are optimistic about it, some pessimistic. But everyone hopes to find true love, whether we look for it or not, whether it comes or not. I love because I feel complete when I am in love. I feel happy, contented. And yet for some people love is not the issue but commitment is. Why do some people fear it? The reason varies, but generally they fear it because, as they say love is all about risks and some people does not want to take that risk of being hurt or feeling pain. Others maybe traumatized, seeing other loved ones try but fail. But it’s part of it. While there is the possibility of tears, there is also the assurance of laughter, joy, peace and happiness. It’s not always about the fights, arguments, pains but it’s about the blinding truth that when one is ‘in love,’ they feel alive.
For centuries it has been told in stories, written in books, movies were seen, plays where created, love is the eternal story that started everything. Mankind was created because if the selfless love of a higher being, either that or boredom. The Romeo and Juliet story took form in so many ways already. The Prince and Princess tale has been told countless times, in hundreds of different languages, with different twists, but always the same ending; ‘they lived happily ever after.’ But what happens after the “ever after”? Did Cinderella still clean the palace fireplace? Did Sleeping Beauty get a lot of sleep with the snores of the Prince Charming? Did Snow White still eat apples?
No one and nobody actually know for sure but I guess that’s why there is a thing called “Faith!”
Believe.

Nice philosophy! Believe! That's where it starts
There's this story - I think it's greek - aristophanes??? about why we search and yearn for the other it's that we're once one big ball of four arms and four legs? ANd we got separated... it's about soul mates and all... Il tell the story to you in person I';m not much of a story teller...
this is indeed true...people love to be in love...and when you love, you open yourself/heart to happiness and pain...but there are also a lot of people who falls in love just to be whole (which may cause more pain)...as for me, i intend to be whole first, love my self, then i would commit again...as it's better to love when you are whole so that whatever may it cause you (pain or happiness), you can still continue with your journey without the feeling that you have lost your life...you know that i've been through a lot too beh...but i don't have any bitterness or whatsoever...because those experiences made me stronger and better person (and actually wiser - wink* wink*) =) - saz
"... It’s not always about the fights, arguments, pains but it’s about the blinding truth that when one is ‘in love,’ they fell alive...." what is the "blinding truth" when one as you said "feels alive" :-) just a thought...
